The Divine Principle or Expression of the Divine Principle (Korean: 가이강론/历在講論, transl. kowonli ganglon) is the main theological textbook of the Unity Movement. It was written by Moon and an early student, Hyo Won Yoo, and was first published in 1966. A translation titled The Divine Principle was published in Glish in 1973. Following a systematic theological framework, believers include (1) God’s purpose in creating man, (2) the fall of man, and (3) regeneration—a process in history by which God works to undo the harmful effects of the fall. and returning mankind to the relationship and position that God originally intended.
God is seen as the creator whose nature combines masculine and feminine and is the source of all truth, beauty and goodness. Man and the world reflect God’s person, nature and purpose.
The purpose of human existence is to return happiness to God. The “four-position foundation” (origin, subject, object, and conjunction) is another important interpretive concept that partially explains the emphasis on the family.

Jesus was divine, but not God. He was supposed to be the second person to create the perfect family by uniting with the perfect wife and creating a pure family that would free mankind from the condition of sin.
When Jesus was crucified before marriage, he saved mankind spiritually, but not physically. This task was assigned to the “real parts” – Mah and Han – who connect married couples and their families to God.
The blessing ceremony attracted the attention of the press and the public and was often referred to as a “mass wedding”.
