When you want to compare one set of data to another, you have several types of charts to work with. Some depend on the number of datasets, while others use a hierarchical structure. For example, you can compare revenue or performance categories from different sources for employee reviews.
If you want to show parts of a whole, you can use a composition diagram. You can show the percentage of sales for each vendor, the position of website visits, or the contribution of each department to the total revenue.
If you want to show how a large set of data is distributed, use a distribution chart. This type of chart works well for age-related survey results, call center complaints, or school test scores.
Charts In Excel: Learn How To Create Charts In Excel
When you think about trends, it's something that changes over time. For example, the style of jeans changes over the decades. Bell bottoms in the 70s, high waists in the 80s, button downs in the 90s, etc.
Excel has several other charts that work for one-time situations and may also fit your data.
Although the information above is the most common chart types to use for your type, these are not hard and fast rules. Of course, you can use another type of graph or chart if you think it best represents your data.
Plus, Excel actually helps you choose the right chart with the Recommended Charts feature. To use the tool, select the data you want to chart. Next, go to the Insert tab and click "Featured Charts" in the Charts section of the ribbon.

Presenting Data With Charts
Step #1: Open your Excel 365 sheet. Open Excel and open the sheet containing the data you want to display in the column.
Step #2: Mark the columns of interest. Select the columns that contain the data you want to display in your bar chart. In my case, I selected columns A (year) and B (number of Internet users). If the columns of data you want to convert to a bar chart are not adjacent to each other, how do you select them? Select the first column, press Ctrl for Windows or Command for macOS, then select the second column.
Step #3: Draw a bar chart. With your columns still selected, click Insert (second menu bar from the left). There will be a wide range of bar chart options that you can choose from. After you specify the data you want to plot, Excel offers several bar charts under Recommended Charts. In most cases, you'll find one or two options that best represent the data you've selected. In this case, with the example above, I chose the clustered column option suggested by the schematics.
Step #4: Further Customization: You can customize your Stanga chart as you wish, for example, embed subscriptions and labels into your chart. Right-click anywhere on the graphic to see all available customization options. Description: This chart is really a mini-board, good for showing what happened from the beginning to the end of the number and how various factors have been added to or subtracted from that number over time.

Description: Normal cluster bar/bar charts show no difference between the bars. This method not only displays variances, but also creates variances with different colors conditionally for positive or negative changes.

Description: I'm not a big fan of stacked bar charts because they're hard to read. Because the base is uneven, it is difficult for our eyes to compare the size of the bars.
